Update announcement and a renewed website style
Gepubliceerd op 19-11-2019
Have you seen the new homepage of the myTourist website yet? A fresher look that can better convey our story. More compact and engaging texts reinforced with suitable imagery. The homepage reflects the new look & feel that we will roll out across the entire website in the coming period.
Internally, we work with update numbers, in which we can bundle new features. From now on, we will also communicate these update numbers publicly. This makes it easier to create long-term planning and keep users informed about the processing of suggestions. The developments of update #13 are well underway.
Starting from the next update, room types can contain one or more price profiles. A price profile contains a price per night based on, for example, the number of persons. This way, the price can be adjusted based on the number of guests staying in a room. A price profile can include products (e.g., standard breakfast) or products that the guest can optionally add. Handy for creating packages.
Until now, room types have been used for synchronization with booking providers. This will change; price profiles will be linked and synchronized in real-time starting from update #13. The calendar, channel connections, and hotel websites will be adapted accordingly. This update was also necessary for several new channels. The connection with Expedia is scheduled for update #14.
Adding products for creating packages or options with bookings. Managing your VAT rates is also included in this new feature. Product management is a precursor to future invoicing and the Gastro (Cash register / POS) system.
Update #13 is expected in week 48.
