An update planned as "just in between" can turn out to be the biggest update in a long time. An update must meet the highest quality standards, and along the way, extra decisions can be made to make an update even better. This update is typically such an example. A significant number of improvements and new features are included in update 13.7 (launch Monday evening, February 3, 2020).
Recurring check-in/out blocks
Do you prefer not to offer check-in and/or check-out on weekdays or for specific dates? You can now block arrivals and/or departures for specific weekdays in your room type settings. You no longer have to manually block check-in/out in the future for, for example, fixed weekdays. Do you want to disable check-in/out for specific dates? The renewed bulk tool will help you with this (see further in this article). Your calendar will show which days check-in/check-out is (not) allowed.
Alternative dates for the booking engine
When a guest checks availability on your website, a calendar is displayed per room type to present any alternative dates. If the preferred date does not offer availability, the guest can see any other dates at a glance.
Additionally, the booking through your hotel website is directly shown as an option in your calendar. Availability on linked booking sites is therefore updated immediately. You only need to confirm the booking by changing the status from "option" to "definitive".
Price profiles clearer
Managing price profiles used to be isolated per room type. In practice, it proves to be more convenient to work and provide more overview and clarity when price profiles can be modified centrally from one page. For this reason, Price profiles have been given their own place in the settings overview.
You can also provide available price profiles for your hotel website with a name in no less than 15 languages. The languages that you do not manually input will be automatically translated for you.
Improved bulk tool
From the calendar, you can overwrite the basic data of your price profiles. Think of availability, check-in/out options, minimum length of stay, and price. This bulk tool features significant improvements in update 13.7:
- Quickly make a change for a selected period on weekends (e.g., higher rate for all weekends between two dates)? Simply select the desired weekdays, and your change will be applied for the selected period on the specific weekdays.
- Adjust check-in/out for specific date ranges per price profile.
- If you adjust the availability for a room type, the system recognizes already booked rooms. It’s also possible to revert previously overwritten availability.
Record payments and deposits
In the settings of linked external booking sites, you will find a number of new possibilities. You can indicate per booking site whether they already charge the guest for the payment, tourist tax, and fixed costs such as end cleaning. Based on this, any outstanding balance will be calculated automatically and added to a booking.
