Back to simplicity in Swedish nature
Holiday home Neatocht in Dalarna
Sometimes you make a decision that you never thought you would make. For Alexander & Esther, the owners of Neatocht, Frisian for "never thought", this became a reality when they decided to emigrate to Sweden. Shortly afterwards, they had the opportunity to buy a holiday home in Sweden, in the middle of nature and within walking distance of their own home. “Our mission is simple: we want people to experience what it's like to return to peace, space and simplicity.”
Closer to nature, without unnecessary luxury
The fully detached holiday home is located right by the forest, with a lake within walking distance. Everything you need is provided – from a furnished kitchen to made-up beds and towels – but without unnecessary luxury. “We believe that too much luxury doesn’t fit with Sweden. It’s about experiencing nature.” That experience begins as soon as you step out the door. Hours of walking without encountering anyone, a better chance of spotting an elk than in the Netherlands, and silence that you can hardly find anywhere else.
From moose safari to canoe adventure
Alexander and Esther do everything they can to really let guests experience Sweden. For example, they take guests into the forest or on a moose safari. "When we've been out and about together once, we notice that guests then also dare to go exploring on their own more easily." In addition, guests can go up the river in a canoe, with a chance to spot beavers. Or completely relax in the mobile sauna, which can be placed anywhere you want, for example by a lake for a refreshing swim afterwards.
The system works conveniently and clearly. Tickets are quickly picked up, so you can continue right away.
